reception

The anime was the cover story of AnimaniA 6/2008. According to AnimePro, the series is not just a copy of its predecessors Noir and Madlax , but also has something new to offer. The atmosphere is reminiscent of spaghetti westerns and the plot offers witty entertainment. The animation is excellent and the music is beautiful.

According to AnimeY, the series features original supporting characters and a loving and uniquely designed world. However, some topics from the two previous series are already known and Ellis' naivety is sometimes already tiring. A lot of things also seem clichéd and in contrast to Noir and Madlax , the series hardly offers any action. In contrast, the characters and the humor provided entertainment.
