El Paso is a small town (with a status of " City ") in Woodford and McLean Counties in the northern central part of the US state of Illinois . In 2010 El Paso had 2810 inhabitants.

El Paso lies at 40 ° 44'21 "north latitude and 89 ° 00'59" west longitude and extends over 4.01 km². The place is distributed across the El Paso and Panola Townships in Woodford County and the Gridley Township in McLean County.
Neighboring towns to El Paso are Panola (6.3 km north), Gridley (12 km east), Kappa (8.9 km south) and Secor (11.1 km west). Major cities in the area are Bloomington (19 miles south) and Peoria (32 miles west).

Interstate 39 runs through the western districts of El Paso in a north-south direction . In the downtown area, US Highway 24, which runs in a west-east direction, intersects Illinois State State Route 251, which runs north to south . All other roads are unpaved roads or inner-city connecting roads.
A railway line of the Toledo, Peoria and Western Railway runs parallel to IL 251 . The El Paso Walking Trail now runs on the route of an earlier railway line from north to south .
