Goodfield is a village in the USA in the US state Illinois . The place is partly in Tazewell Country and partly in Woodford County . In 2000, Goodfield had 686 residents; In 2009, the official estimate was 858 residents.

Goodfield is located on the Mackinaw River in the southeastern suburb of the city of Peoria at 40 ° 37'38 "north latitude and 89 ° 16'21" west longitude and extends over 13.88 km², which consists exclusively of land.

history

Goodfield was founded in 1888 by John Guth under the name "Town of Guthville". The foundation was the railway, which put a new line into operation. Less than a year later, the name of the place was renamed Goodville.

In 1957 Goodville was officially given the status of " Village ". In the same year a water sewer was planned, which was built in 1980.

Demographic data

In the official census in 2000 , the population was 686. These were distributed over 229 households in 199 families. The population density was 176.6 inhabitants per square kilometer. There were 227 residential buildings, which corresponded to a building density of 58.4 buildings per square kilometer.

The population in 2000 consisted almost exclusively of whites (99.1 percent).
