Hopedale is a village in Tazewell County in the center of the US -amerikanischen state of Illinois . Hopedale is located 24 miles south of Peoria in the central part of Illinois.

In 2000 Hopedale had 929 residents; the official estimate for 2009 was 932.

Hopedale's geographic coordinates are 40 ° 25 ′  N , 89 ° 25 ′  W (40.422265, −89.417799). Hopedale is located in a heavily agricultural area in central Illinois.

According to the United States Census Bureau , the village has a total area of ​​1.3 km², which consists entirely of land. The Gulf, Mobile and Ohio Railroad cuts the boundary of the place from southwest to northeast, but most of the residential buildings are northwest of it. The area is drained by the east-west flowing Indian Creek , a tributary of the Mackinaw River . The Illinois State Route 122 runs east-west in accounting, at the northern border district. It connects Hopedale west with the nearby interstate 155 and east with Illinois State Route 9 to Bloomington .

history

Hopedale was founded in 1827 by Asron Orendorff. Orendorff wanted the place to be called Osceola.

However, some places already existed under this name in Illinois and so the name of the Hopedale Township was given to the place , within which the place is located. On August 12, 1853, the post office was established, in 1872 Hopedale was incorporated as a village. In 1868 two railway companies built the railway line through the town, which is still in use today.

In 1954 a medical center was built in Hopedale. It carries out operations as well as rehabilitation and care measures.
