Mackinaw is a location in Tazewell County , Illinois , United States . The place is known for the Mack Ca Festival. The festival takes place every year towards the end of June. Since 1933, Mackinaw was an "alcohol-free place"; however, that changed when residents voted to distribute alcohol in 2013.

The college is Deer Creek-Mackinaw High School. The students from Mackinaw and Deer Creek go to DeeMack High School. The athletes attend the Heart of Illinois Conference, and in 2012 the girls' volleyball team won the Class 2A State title. This was the school's first win in a national competition.
