El Circo (dt .: The circus ) is a Mexican film from the year 1943. Directed in this comedy led Miguel M. Delgado , also had this along with Jaime Salvador the screenplay written.

action

A shoemaker, played by Cantinflas , repairs the heel of a boot owned by Rosalinda, who works as a rider in her father's circus. She then ensures that he is employed as a craftsman in the circus. Rosalinda's father is in debt with the loan shark Elías. If he cannot repay the man, his daughter Elías has to marry, otherwise he would lose his circus. When an investor becomes interested in the circus, Elías has his henchmen kidnap one of the men performing the trapeze act in order to thwart the sale. However, the shoemaker overcomes his fear of heights and takes the vacated space in the trapeze number. The sale then takes place and the investor asks Rosalinda's father to continue running the circus.

The shoemaker hopes for Rosalinda's favor, but it turns out that the young woman already loves another man.

Production notes

El Circo was produced by Posa Films . The film premiered in Mexico on March 11, 1943. It was first performed in Spain on June 27, 1949. The start date in Portugal was February 13, 1953. Hollywood actor Leonid Kinskey had a cameo in El Circo because he was in Mexico at the time to shoot the American version of Cinco fueron escogidos .
