Elama Fa'atonu (born April 30, 1994 in Faga'alu , American Samoa ) is a sprinter and soccer player from American Samoa.
Career
athletics
Fa'atonu started for American Samoa at the 2012 Olympic Games in London in the 100 m run. His time of 11.48 seconds was a personal best, but was not enough to assert himself in his preroll. Fa'atonu said he would join the American Samoa Army after the Olympics.

In addition to his athletics career, Fa'atonu played for Lion Heart in the FFAS Senior League, which is the top division in American Samoa, until the summer of 2015 . He then moved within the league to Utulei Youth for which he played until the summer of 2017 and then again to join Pago Youth . With these he should also win the national championship this season. In summer 2018 he left the club with an unknown
In the squad of Utulei Youth he took part in the qualification for the OFC Champions League in January 2016 . His first appearance in an international game was against Kiwi FC from Samoa on January 26th . The only victory he was able to achieve with his team in this round with 3: 2 against Veitongo FC from Tonga . In the next season he took part again with his club in the qualification for the OFC Champions League . In this preliminary round, however, he was only used in the 3-1 defeat at Puaikura FC from New Zealand . He was able to achieve the only goal to make it 2-1 for his team in the 82nd minute at least. In the qualification for the OFC Champions League 2018 he was in the squad of his now new club Pago Youth in all games. In this round all games were lost except for a tie. Particularly noteworthy is the 1:13 home defeat against Lupe ole Soaga from Samoa, in which he was on the pitch for the full 90 minutes.
National team
On April 21, 2011 he was substituted on in the U-20 Oceania Championship in the preliminary round game against the U-20 from Vanuatu in the 17th minute for the injured Charles Uhrle ; the game was lost 7-0. This should have been his only appearance in a game for a national team to date.
