Eleanor Matsuura (born July 16, 1983 in Tokyo , Japan ) is a British actress .

life and career

Eleanor Matsuura was born in the Japanese metropolis of Tokyo as the daughter of a British and Japanese parent. She grew up in London , where she completed her acting training at the renowned Central School of Speech and Drama in 2004. Eleanor Matsuura subsequently had engagements at the Royal Court Theater , the Old Vic Theater and other theaters in London's West End theater district . She made her début in front of the camera in 2005 in an episode role of Hustle - Dishonest Lasts Longest . She can be seen in a variety of episode roles in television series such as EastEnders , Doctor Who or FM . In German-speaking countries she became known for her role as DI Zoe Larson in the 2009 crime film Hunt for a Murderer (Hunter) alongside Hugh Bonneville .

Eleanor Matsuura is committed to animal welfare in her private life and works closely with Battersea Dogs and Cats Home , the oldest and most famous British animal shelter. She has a modern dance education and speaks moderate Japanese in addition to her native English .

Eleanor Matsuura is married to the Canadian actor Trevor White and lives in London.
