Eleazar Lipsky

Eleazar Lipsky (born September 6, 1911 in Bronx , New York City , New York , † February 14, 1993 ) was an American lawyer , screenwriter and writer who won an Oscar for best original story and a second time for was nominated for the Edgar Allan Poe Award for Best Screenplay.

Life

Lipsky completed after school to study law and was then as a lawyer and as a prosecutor ( Assistant District Attorney ) in Manhattan active. In 1947, Kiss of Death was his first novel , which was filmed by Henry Hathaway that same year . For the template for The Kiss of Death with Victor Mature , Brian Donlevy and Coleen Gray , he was nominated for the Oscar for best original story at the 1948 Academy Awards.

For submission to the murder trial of O'Hara (The People Against O'Hara, 1951), one of John Sturges with Spencer Tracy , Pat O'Brien and Diana Lynn incurred on his same 1950 published novel noir film , it was beyond Nominated for the Edgar Allan Poe Award for Best Screenplay in 1952.
