Elena Maria Petrini (born February 11, 1992 in Spoleto ) is an Italian triathlete , junior aquathlon world champion (2010) and Italian junior aquathlon and triathlon vice-champion of the year 2010.

Career

At the age of 18 Petrini was able to establish himself in the top class nationally and internationally in 2010.

Junior World Champion Aquathlon 2010

In addition to the national aquathlon and triathlon championships, she also won the Junior Cup in Italy. Petrini won gold in the 2010 sprint triathlon held in the run-up to the World Series Triathlon in Kitzbühel. She ended her debut year with the gold medal at the Aquathlon Junior World Championship.

Junior Vice World Champion Duathlon 2011

At the Duathlon Junior European Championship 2011 in Limerick she won bronze, at the Triathlon Junior European Championship in Pontevedra, however, she just missed a medal rank. In September she became Junior Vice World Champion Duathlon in Spain.

In 2011 Petrini, like many European top juniors, took part in the French club championship series Lyonnaise des Eaux and competed for Sastri 37 (Saint Avertin Sports). At the opening triathlon in Nice (April 24, 2011) she was 21st in the individual ranking and was thus the second best in her club, among the three triathlètes classants l'équipe. In 2013 she became the U23 national triathlon champion.

Vice State Champion Duathlon 2014

In 2014 she became Vice State Champion Duathlon in the elite class.

At the University World Championships in August 2016, the then 24-year-old finished eleventh in the triathlon and third in the Italian team together with Sara Papais and Giorgia Priarone in Nyon.

Petrini moved to Rome to prepare at the Olympic Competence Center in Acqua Acetosa . Your trainers are Alessandro Bottoni and Piergiorgio Conti. In addition to top-class sport, Petrini studies economics at the Sapienza in Rome.
