Eleonore Zetzsche

Eleonore Zetzsche (born November 5, 1919 in Leipzig ; † June 7, 2006 in Bochum ) was a German actress and singer .

Life

Eleonore Zetzsche was brought to the Berliner Ensemble by Bertolt Brecht in 1949 . In addition to her work on the stage, she also studied singing with Elisabeth Schwarzkopf . Until 1972 she worked at the Schauspielhaus Bochum with Hans Schalla , until 1979 at the Staatstheater Stuttgart and again in Bochum. She played in many performances directed by Artistic Director Claus Peymann . Under him she was also engaged in Vienna and Berlin, mostly in pieces by Thomas Bernhard . She later had engagements in Frankfurt, Munich, Basel and at the Vienna Burgtheater . In Joshua Sobol's polydrama Alma (director: Paulus Manker ) she played the artist museum Alma Mahler-Werfel for several years , most recently a few weeks before her death in the Kronprinzenpalais in Berlin .

Eleonore Zetzsche died on June 7, 2006 in Bochum. Only three days earlier, on June 3, 2006, she gave a recital A Kiss Is Just A Kiss at the Schauspielhaus Bochum .

It was several times by the magazine Theater heute as actress of the year nominee.
