Elias Baeck
Elias Baeck , alias Heldenmuth , also Elias Beck (* 1679 ; † 1747 in Augsburg ), was a German painter , engraver and cartographer .
Elias Baeck studied in Rome , where he was nicknamed Heldenmuth. He worked in Venice and Laibach and finally settled in Augsburg.
Elias Baeck copied animals based on models by the Hague painter and etcher Marc de Bye (around 1612–1670) and added plants. He signed the sheets with EB a. H. for Elias Baeck alias Heldenmuth . Baeck cut histories, landscapes, battles and portraits - partly in the style of Johann Sadeler .
