Elisabeth Bröskamp (born September 30, 1969 in Ibbenbüren ) is a German politician ( Alliance 90 / The Greens ). She was a member of the Rhineland-Palatinate state parliament until 2016 .

Life

Elisabeth Bröskamp was born in 1969 in Ibbenbüren / Westphalia as the fourth daughter as the daughter of the development aid couple Hermann and Filomena Bröskamp. In 1971 the family moved from the Münsterland to Bonn . She attended kindergarten and elementary school in Ippendorf . In 1978 the Bröskamp couple bought Ariendorf Castle in Rhineland-Palatinate and moved there with the family in 1981. In 1991 she passed the Abitur at the Friedrich-Ebert-Gymnasium Bonn .

Bröskamp studied pedagogy and geography for secondary level I and II teaching (grammar school / comprehensive school) and graduated with the 1st state examination. From 1998 to 2003 parental leave followed. From February 1, 2011, she worked as a teacher for education and geography at a grammar school in North Rhine-Westphalia . In 2008, Bröskamp passed the master craftsman's examination as master horse breeding and husbandry (FN) .

Elisabeth Bröskamp has been married since 1993 and is the mother of four children. She volunteers for the aid organization OPAM, which her parents founded in 1980 with five other friends. From 2011 to 2016 she was a member of the state parliament in Rhineland-Palatinate for Bündnis90 / Die Grünen . She was the spokesperson for child and family policy for the Greens parliamentary group, was a member of the education committee, a member of the state youth welfare committee and a member of the advisory board for children in care at the state level.

Political career

Bröskamp joined the Bündnis 90 / Die Grünen party in 2003 . The following year she ran for the district election and was elected as an assessor in the Altenkirchen district board. From 2006 to 2008 she was the spokeswoman for the local Green Association Altenkirchen-Flammersfeld. At that time she was also a member of the kindergarten committee of the Altenkirchen community (Westerwald) . After moving back to the Neuwied district in 2008, Bröskamp is active in local politics there. Since 2009 she has been a member of the Neuwied district council and the Asbach municipal council . In 2010 she was elected spokeswoman for the Bündnis90 / Die Grünen-Neuwied district association. Since March 2011 she has been a member of the Rhineland-Palatinate state parliament . In the state parliament she was a member of the Education Committee and had been a member of the Committee on Social Affairs, Labor, Health and Demography since October 15, 2015.

In the 2014 local elections, she was again in the Neuwied district council and has been parliamentary group chairman since then and is a green member of the Rengsdorf municipal council .

She was also a member of the State Youth Welfare Committee, the Rhineland-Palatinate Horse Breeding Association, the Rhineland Horse Studbook Association, the Society for Education and Knowledge, the Association for the Promotion of Literacy, the Association of German Education Teachers, the GEW, Greenpeace, the DLRG and other organizations and sponsoring associations.
