Elisabeth Renata von Lothringen (born October 9, 1574 in Nancy ; † January 4, 1635 near Braunau am Inn ) was the first wife of Elector Maximilian I of Bavaria.

The Lorraine Princess Elisabeth Renata, daughter of Duke Charles III. von Lorraine and his wife Claudia von Valois , was married to her cousin Maximilian I of Bavaria on February 6, 1595 in Nancy . The connection, which lasted over 40 years, remained childless. Elisabeth and her husband were particularly active in the charitable field.

At the beginning of 1635 the duke couple had to flee to the Ranshofen monastery near Braunau am Inn for fear of the threat of plague , where Elisabeth died on January 4th. Her grave is now in the electoral burial place in St. Michael in Munich . Her heart and entrails were buried separately and are located in the Chapel of Grace in Altötting .
