Elisabeth of Meissen
Elisabeth von Meißen (born November 22, 1329 at the Wartburg ; † April 21, 1375 ) was a princess from the Wettin family and, by marriage, Countess of Nuremberg .
Life
Elisabeth was a daughter of the Thuringian landgrave and margrave of Meissen Friedrich II and Mechthild / Mathilde (* 1309/13; † July 2, 1346), the daughter of Emperor Ludwig of Bavaria .
On September 7, 1350, she married the Nuremberg Burgrave Friedrich V in Jena , whose marriage resulted in eight children:
- Beatrix (1355–1414), wife of Duke Albrecht III. from Austria
- Elisabeth (1358–1411), wife of King Ruprecht
- Agnes , (* 1366; † May 22, 1432), Poor Clare Monastery in Hof (1376–1386), married Baron Friedrich von Daber († July 15, 1410) in Constance in 1386, Frauenkloster in Hof (1406–1432), 1411– 1432 abbess
- Margaret (1367–1406), wife of Hermann II of Hesse
