Elisabeth von der Lieth (born January 23, 1918 in Kulm ; † December 16, 2002 in Hamburg ) was a German teacher , seminar leader and academic pedagogue .

Life

Elisabeth von der Lieth attended a grammar school in Aussig and then studied German, history and French at the University of Tübingen , the University of Berlin and the University of Hamburg , where she completed her training in 1942 with the state examination for higher teaching qualifications. Because of the Second World War , she, her two children and her parents were expelled from Aussig and fled to Hamburg. From 1945 to 1965 taught Elisabeth von der Lieth here at the school Lerchenfeld on the Uhlenhorst . She was also involved in the Hamburg Philological Association from 1951 to 1978. She later took part in the German Teachers' Association in Hamburg, whose pedagogical committee she headed for over a decade.

In addition to her work in Hamburg associations, Elisabeth von der Lieth took over the chairmanship of the committee for girls' education at the federal level and was second chairwoman of the German Association of Philologists in 1965, and from 1969 to 1974 she wrote the publication "Problematics and Discussion", which was published in the association's journal "The Higher School" was settled. From 1965 to 1981 von der Lieth headed the study seminar and introduced prospective teachers to professional practice.

Elisabeth von der Lieth helped shape the program of the Catholic Academy in Hamburg for the last two decades of her life . She took part in discussions, not avoiding controversies, tried to mediate on controversial topics and for this reason was popular with many people.
