Elise Hannemann

Elise Hannemann (born August 28, 1849 in Proskau , † January 24, 1934 in Berlin) was a German nutritional physiologist and cookery teacher.

Life

After staying in various parts of Germany and traveling abroad, Elise Hannemann was an independent cookery teacher from around 1875 . She held courses and public cooking demonstrations. In 1888 she became the head of the cooking school at the Berlin Lette-Verein and developed a science-medicine-based diet . Her cookbook had 110 editions and was one of the most popular cookbooks in Prussia in the first half of the 20th century. From 1896 she held together with Hermann Strauss and Dr. Kasack from the Charité Courses on the nutrition of sick people and the like a. in the Lette Association and was involved in the creation of the profession of dietician .
