Elise Thérèse Daiwaille (* 5. May 1814 in Amsterdam , Kingdom of the Netherlands , † 2. June 1881 in Koblenz ) was a Dutch painter of still lifes and lithographer .
Life
Elise Thérèse Daiwaille-Koekkoek was the daughter of the painter Jean Augustin Daiwaille and Catharina Elisabeth Waller ; her brother was the painter Alexander Joseph Daiwaille . She learned painting from her father and worked as an artist from 1829 until her death in 1881. During this time she mainly painted still lifes with flowers and fruits. She published Principes des fleurs et des fruits , an album of six lithographs with studies of fruits. In 1836 she showed her work in an exhibition in Utrecht .
In 1833 Daiwaille married her father's pupil and friend, the painter Barend Cornelis Koekkoek from the Dutch Koekkoek family of painters . Shortly after their marriage, the couple settled on the Lower Rhine in Germany. The BC Koekkoek house in Kleve , where she lived from 1847 to 1869, is now a museum. Their relationship resulted in five daughters, including Adèle Koekkoek , painter of still lifes and landscapes, and Maria Louise Koekkoek , a landscape painter.
