Elke Diepenbeck (born May 24, 1961 in Koblenz ) is a German singer , composer and actress .

Life

Elke Diepenbeck grew up in Vallendar near Koblenz . From 1981 to 1985 she studied piano, recorder and singing at the University of Mainz . In 1985 she received the University of Mainz's sponsorship award for special artistic achievements in the field of music.

Between 1985 and 1989 she was the singer of the pop-rock band Cha O. with around a hundred appearances and publications on television and radio. In 1989 and 1990 she played the leading role of the "girl" in the rock musical "Linie 1" in the Koblenz and Mainz theaters. Since 1988 she has been the singer of the Wiesbaden cult band Nightbirds . From 1992 to 1994 Diepenbeck taught as a singing teacher (jazz / pop) at the Frankfurter Musik Werkstatt (FMW).

In 1993 she founded the rock formation deep 'n back , which opened the Mainz tent festival as the opening act for Gianna Nannini . In 2000 she won the SWR's My Generation music competition with this band . Since 1996 she has formed the jazz group Ladies NYGHT together with Nanni Byl and Annika Klar and in 2005 released the CD Learning to Fly . Several live and studio CDs followed with the formation, which has been successfully touring Germany in December for more than 10 years. In 2002 she played one of the leading roles as an actress in the revue "Büro Büro" of the Mainzer Kammerspiele. Since then, she has been the musical director of all of the Zeitgeist ensemble's revues.

Over the years Elke Diepenbeck has worked with Edo Zanki , Bobby Kimball , Frank Nimsgern , Barbra Morrisson , Julia Neigel and Hans York , among others . In 2004 and 2005 she was vocal soloist with the Baden-Baden Philharmonic as part of the Sound of Cinema concert series .

Together with conductor Wolfgang Diefenbach she went on several concert tours to Romania, Jordan, Syria, Lebanon and Palestine. In 2011 she was a guest singer with the hr big band for the children's music production Pippi Longstocking and in 2013 she was a guest at the HR4 Christmas concerts with colleagues from Ladies NYGHT .

Since October 2011 she has been running a stage for cabaret and music "Das KulturGut" in Bechtolsheim together with Roland Kalus .
