The Ellersdorfer Wasser , also Ellersdorfer Bach , is a right-hand tributary of the upper Spree in Sohland an der Spree in the Saxon district of Bautzen with a length of approx. 2.2 kilometers.

The Ellersdorfer Wasser rises at the southern foot of the Kälbersteine ( 487  m ) in the upper part of Ellersdorf . Its mostly piped upper course leads south through Ellersdorf and feeds some small ponds. At the former Jägerhof the brook turns west and flows north on the Schloßberg ( 323  m ) into the Sohland reservoir , where the Auenbach flows into it. The stream leaves the reservoir through a DN 500 pipeline and flows into the Spree at Altscheidenbach .

The Ellersdorfer Wasser originally flowed into the Spree at the foot of the Sohlander Castle . Between 1937 and 1941 the Spree was dammed below the mouth, so that the stream flowed into the reservoir. In the course of the redesign of the Sohland reservoir, it was separated from the Spree between 2001 and 2004, so that it is now mainly fed by the Ellersdorfer Wasser and Auenbach. At the same time, the floodplains of the Ellersdorfer Wasser between Ellersdorf and the restaurant "Am Stausee" were exposed and renatured.

The flood of the century on August 7, 2010, triggered by prolonged heavy rain, caused the stream to swell considerably. In the summer of 2011, the flood damage repairs began.
