Elsa Benítez (born December 8, 1977 in Hermosillo , Sonora , Mexico ) is a Mexican photo model .

biography

She started her career after winning a modeling competition in Costa Rica in 1995. After Linda Evangelista was one of her teenage idols , she decided to follow her dream of a modeling career . First appearances in Mexico were soon followed by others in the USA and Europe .

In 1996 it appeared three times on the front page of the Italian edition of Vogue : in April, August and finally in September. After a contract with the elite model agency , she appeared on the front pages of many magazines such as " Elle ", " Glamor ", "Mademoiselle", " Marie Claire " and others.

Further engagements in advertising campaigns followed. She has worked for Dolce & Gabbana , Macy’s , Episode, INC, J. Crew, Óscar de la Renta , Rena Lange, Nine West, Valentino , Jones New York and Victoria's Secret . In 1999 it appeared in the Pirelli calendar . Elsa Benitez also plans to get into the film business and has taken acting lessons for it. She hopes to appear in Spanish and English productions.

She was married to former NBA player Rony Seikaly . The marriage, which resulted in a daughter, was divorced in the summer of 2005.

Benítez was confirmed as the host of Mexico's Next Top Model.
