The Else is a 12.9 km long orographically left tributary of the Lenne in the Märkisches Kreis , North Rhine-Westphalia .

The Else rises about 800 m north of Herscheid at an altitude of 414 m above sea level. NHN . The river Elsen passes, initially flowing mainly in easterly directions . Flowing further in an easterly direction, the brook reaches the area of the Plettenberg-Hüinghausen airfield and passes Hüinghausen on the southern edge of the town. In the area of Plettenberg the course turns to the north, after a total of 12.9 km of flow at the Plettenberg district Eiringhausen at 203 m above sea level. NHN to flow into the Lenne on the left . There is a height difference of 214 m between the source and the mouth, which corresponds to a mean bed gradient of 16.6 ‰.
