Emanuel Prince of Salm-Salm

Emanuel Philipp Nikolaus Johann Felix Prinz zu Salm-Salm (born December 6, 1961 in Münster ) is a German lawyer , forestry and farmer and since 2011 President of the Catholic Association of the Historical German Rifle Brotherhoods .

Life

Emanuel zu Salm-Salm is the eldest of four children of Carl Philipp Prinz zu Salm-Salm (born May 19, 1933) and Erika, born von Morgen (born March 19, 1935, † April 17, 2007).

After graduating from St. Georg Gymnasium in Bocholt , he completed an apprenticeship as a banker at Deutsche Bank in Soest . From 1985 to 1991 he studied law at the Universities of Hamburg, Cologne and Münster and obtained his doctorate.

Salm-Salm initially worked as a personal assistant to the Bundestag member and later Minister Matthias Wissmann , then in the management of Oppenheim Vermögenstreuhand GmbH of the Sal. Oppenheim bank and then as managing director of DTP Neue Medien .

Salm-Salm is currently working in the Fürstlich Salm-Salm'schen Verwaltung , the family's asset management, which he took over from his father in 2001.

In addition to his residence at Rhede Castle , his family also owns the Anholt moated castle in Isselburg . Salm is the owner of one of the few large private parks and palace complexes in North Rhine-Westphalia. Burg Anholt houses a publicly accessible art history museum for Dutch, Flemish and German art as well as a culturally and historically valuable library and one of the few large, still privately managed archives in the Federal Republic that is open to research. In addition, the ensemble of the Anholt moated castle includes a golf club, a hotel and restaurant as well as a historical wildlife park, the Anholter Switzerland , which is open to the public .

After a divorce in 2002, Emanuel zu Salm-Salm is married for a second time.
