Emil Aust
Emil Aust (born July 29, 1863 in Hermsdorf near Waldenburg , Lower Silesia ; † in the 20th century) was a German high school teacher and classical philologist .
Emil Aust attended high school in Waldenburg from 1874 to 1882 and then studied classical philology, history and German at the University of Breslau . In 1888 he became a member of the Rheinfranken fraternity . In 1889 he received his doctorate in Marburg with Georg Wissowa , with whom he had already studied in Breslau, and in 1890 passed the state examination as a teacher. He completed his seminar year at the grammar school in Marburg and then worked as a scientific assistant teacher in Frankfurt am Main ( Kaiser-Friedrich-Gymnasium , Humboldtschule, Goethe-Gymnasium , Musterschule , Lessing-Gymnasium ). On April 1, 1900, he was appointed director of the newly founded Progymnasium in Myslowitz in Upper Silesia , which he led (with the rank of senior teacher) until his retirement on October 1, 1928.
In addition to his teaching activities, he continued to work scientifically and published studies and articles in the Realencyclopadie of classical antiquity and in the detailed lexicon of Greek and Roman mythology .
