Emil Brack
Emil Brack (born December 8, 1860 in Naumburg , † November 5, 1906 in Munich ) was a German genre painter and watercolorist.
Emil Brack studied at the Prussian Academy of the Arts in Berlin with Paul Thumann , Otto Knille and Ernst Hildebrand from 1878 to 1883 . From October 24, 1883, he continued his studies at the Royal Academy of Arts in Munich with Wilhelm Lindenschmit the Younger . He then attended the Académie Julian in Paris in 1885 . He also went on study trips to Denmark and Italy .
Back in Germany, he worked in Berlin from 1886 and in Munich from 1891. He dedicated himself to genre painting with scenes from the rococo and empire milieu . His pictures were extremely popular, for example reproductions of around 50 of his works were available from the art publisher Franz Hanfstaengl .
He was a member of the Munich Artists' Cooperative .
