Emil Dietrich (politician)

Emil Dietrich (born July 24, 1876 in Kallmerode ; † October 27, 1933 ) was a German educator and politician ( center ).

Life

Emil Dietrich was born the son of a farmer. After attending elementary school, he first went to the preparatory institute in 1891 and then completed the teachers' seminar in Heiligenstadt . He became an elementary school teacher in Pößneck in 1896 , in Worbis in 1897 and then worked at the Heiligenstadt Preparation Institute until 1900. Afterwards he was a listener at the University of Halle . In the following years he also worked as a primary school teacher in Halle (Saale) .

During the time of the Weimar Republic , Dietrich was General Secretary of the Center Party for the Province of Saxony and for the State of Thuringia as well as a member of the board of the Prussian Center Party. As a member of parliament he was a member of the Prussian state assembly from 1919 to 1921 and of the Prussian state parliament from 1921 to 1933 . In the course of his political activity, he was mainly concerned with cultural policy and school organization.
