Emil Feist

Emil F. Feist (born January 7, 1924 in Groß-Peterwitz , † 1987 in Munich ) was a short German actor and clown .

Life

Emil Feist was born as the son of Robert and Maria Feist, b. Wieczorek, born. He spent his childhood in Groß-Peterwitz and went to the local elementary school. Feist initially worked as a commercial clerk and circus clown. From 1952 he worked as "Manegenaugust" at the Swiss National Circus Knie .

From 1969 Feist also worked as an actor. Due to his height of 1.30 m and his professional experience, he often embodied clowns, fools and artists on stage, in film and on television. He has participated in several internationally successful productions such as Ingmar Bergman's Das Schlangenei , Tonino Valeriis Mein Name ist Nobody , Jean-Jacques Annaud's Name of the Rose , Paul Mazursky's comedy Moscow in New York and Volker Schlöndorff's Oscar- winning film adaptation of Grass The Tin Drum . He also played the doctor in Georg Büchner's Woyzeck and “King Peter” in Büchner's Leonce and Lena in television productions .
