Emil Krause (soccer player, 1908)

Emil Krause (born January 21, 1908 in Berlin ; † August 2, 1962 ) was a German football player . Between 1926 and 1944 he played for three Berlin clubs in the top German league and was used once for the senior national team.

The 1931/32 season he played for the Berlin tennis club Borussia in the Berlin-Brandenburg district. As group winner B, he took part in the subsequent final round of the VBB, which he was able to successfully complete with his team.

The 1932/33 season , in which the Berlin championship was last held by VBB, he was able to conclude with his new club, Hertha BSC , both in group B and in the final round of VBB as a winner.

From 1933 to 1944 played in the Gauliga Berlin-Brandenburg , in one of 16 Gauligen at the time of National Socialism as a uniform top division in the German Reich . During this time he won the Gaume Championship three times with Hertha BSC and was therefore also qualified for the final round of the German Championship. In 1934/35 and 1936/37 he played all six group games; the semi-finals were denied to him and his team as second or third in the group. In 1943/44 he played the two first round matches against the Luftwaffen-Sportverein Danzig (the first encounter was found in the goalless draw, despite overtime no winner), the round of 16 won 4-2 against Holstein Kiel and that with 2-3 against the Heeressportverein Groß Born lost quarterfinals. He also played a total of ten games in the Tschammerpokal competition from 1935 to 1939, 1941 and 1943 .

National team

On December 3, 1933, he played his only international match in Berlin for the senior national team, which won 1-0 through the goal scored by Josef Rasselnberg in the 89th minute against the national team of Poland .

After the end of his career, Krause took on some honorary positions at Hertha BSC; he died of a stroke at the age of 54 .
