Emil Lundberg (born January 11, 1982 in Luleå ) is a Swedish ice hockey player who has been under contract with AIK Ishockey in HockeyAllsvenskan since January 2015 .

Career

Emil Lundberg began his career as an ice hockey player in his hometown in the youth department of Luleå HF , for whose professional team he was active from 2000 to 2006 in the Elitserien , the highest Swedish league. The winger then played for SaiPa Lappeenranta and HPK Hämeenlinna from the Finnish SM-liiga for a year before returning to his hometown club Luleå HF towards the end of the 2007/08 season , for which he spent two more seasons in the Elitserien on the ice was standing.

For the 2010/11 season Lundberg signed a contract with HK Poprad from the Slovak Extra League . With his club, he was runner-up right away. For the following season he was committed by his city neighbor HC Lev Poprad from the Continental Hockey League .

For the 2012/2013 season , the then 30-year-old moved to Kloten Flyers for a year . In the summer of 2013 he completed a trial training with KHL newcomer KHL Medveščak Zagreb , but received no contract. In November 2013 he joined Mora IK and spent the rest of the remaining 2013/14 season there. For the 2014/15 season, the Swede moved within the league to Almtuna IS , where he was assistant captain before being loaned to Brynäs IF in the Svenska Hockeyligan in November 2014 . In January 2015 Lundberg finally switched to AIK Ishockey and has also been the team's assistant captain since the beginning of the 2015/16 season.
