Emil Moser (politician)

Emil Moser (born January 26, 1837 in Herzogenbuchsee ; † September 30, 1913 there , reformed , resident in Herzogenbuchsee) was a Swiss politician ( Radical Party ) and entrepreneur .

Life

Emil Moser was born on January 26, 1837 in Herzogenbuchsee as the son of the farmer and entrepreneur Samuel Friedrich Moser and Verena Amalia, born Gugelmann. Moser initially trained as a businessman in Zurich , Italy and Vienna . He then took over the "Seidenbandweberei AG" , the former "Born, Moser & Co." , his father, whose imminent bankruptcy he was able to avert.

In addition, Emil Moser took a seat on the administrative boards of the Wynau power station and the Herzogenbuchsee-Wangen-Jura-Bahn as well as on the board of the Trade and Industry Association of the Canton of Bern. He was also a member of the local section of the Economic Society of Bern. In addition, Emil Moser served in the Swiss Army in the rank of colonel, first as commander of the 13th Infantry Regiment, then a Landwehr brigade.

Emil Moser, who married Anna Maria Magdalena, daughter of David Rudolf de Quervain, in 1863, died on September 30, 1913, four months before he was 77 years old in Herzogenbuchsee. He was the brother of the popular educator Amélie and the railway engineer Robert Moser .

Political offices

Emil Moser, member of the Radical Party was, from 1868 the council represented by Herzogenbuchsee. These officiated Moser 1896-1899 as mayor , where he electricity, water supply, sewerage and Alignementsplan introduced. At the same time he was a member of the parish council from 1874 to 1912, of which he was president from 1879. In addition, he represented his party at the cantonal level from 1892 to 1894 in the Bern Grand Council . At the federal level he was a member of the National Council after the parliamentary elections from 1893 to 1902 .
