Emil Rahm (politician)

Emil Rahm (born January 26, 1804 in Stettin ; † May 20, 1882 ibid) was a German businessman and member of the Frankfurt National Assembly .

Emil Rahm initially ran a timber business, which he later gave up to participate in various industrial ventures. For many years he was a city councilor and head of the merchant class in Stettin.

From June 1848 to March 1849 he belonged to the German Association for Freedom of Commerce, from August 1848 to the Association of Representatives of the Commercial Class and the Association for German Customs Union in Frankfurt am Main .

In November 1848 he moved into the Frankfurt National Assembly as the successor to Ferdinand Nemitz for the 6th constituency of the province of Pomerania ( Dramburg ). He did not join any parliamentary group, mostly voted with the right wing and took part in the Gotha post-parliament in 1849 .

In 1853 he received the title of Kommerzienrat and in 1866 the title of Privy Commercial Council.
