Emil Rasch (politician)

Emil Rasch (born June 11, 1904 in Bramsche , † March 3, 1971 in Osnabrück ) was a German politician ( CDU ) and member of the Lower Saxony state parliament .

After attending elementary and middle school in Bramsche, Emil Rasch attended the secondary school in Osnabrück, where he graduated from university in the spring of 1922. First he completed a commercial training in industry, trade and banking by 1924. He then studied law, political science and economics in Göttingen , Freiburg , Berlin and Münster . In 1927 he obtained his doctorate jur.

In 1928 he climbed into the Founded in 1897, Hannoversche Tapetenfabrik brothers Rasch one, worked independently as a merchant at home and abroad, where he frequent trips to the United Kingdom , the Netherlands, France, Belgium, Switzerland, Italy and the United States undertook . During World War II he was drafted into the Wehrmacht (January 1941) and took part in the German-Soviet War . After the end of the war, he continued his work as an independent businessman. The wallpaper factory Gebr. Rasch continued the production of Bauhaus wallpapers , which began in 1929 , and produced the “Rasch artist wallpapers” from the 1950s.

In the British zone of occupation he became a member of the Presidium of the Association of the Paper Processing Industry and a member of the Design Council. He was present at the founding assembly of the German Werkbund (DWB) of Lower Saxony in 1949 and was a member of the DWB West-North from 1953 to 1971 and a member of the board of the DWB eV since 1950. He also held the office of city councilor from 1946–1947. From April 20, 1947 to April 30, 1951, Rasch was a member of the Lower Saxony state parliament (1st electoral period).
