Emilio Greco

Emilio Greco (born October 11, 1913 in Catania , † April 5, 1995 in Rome ) was an Italian sculptor, medalist , graphic artist and draftsman.

Life

Emilio Greco grew up in Sicily . In 1934 he was accepted into the Accademia di Belle Arti in Palermo . The first artistic work was interrupted by the Second World War, during which Greco was repeatedly drafted into the army. In 1947 he got a studio in the Villa Massimo in Rome . From 1955 to 1967 he taught sculpture at the Art Academy in Naples. In Orvieto and in his native city of Catania there are museums dedicated to him.
