Emilio Zanini

Emilio Zanini (born December 10, 1866 in Cavergno , † May 28, 1922 in Locarno ) was a Swiss teacher and writer.

Life

Emilio Zanini was the son of Giovanni Zanini and his wife Maria Domenica, geb. Dado.

He taught Italian literature at the College of the Servites in Mendrisio as well as at the teachers' seminar and at the Collegio assunzionista di San Carlo in Locarno .

Emilio Zanini had been married to Vittoria, daughter of the doctor Giovan Battista Lotti, since 1900.

Literary work

Emilio Zanini wrote poems and translated in the Cavergno dialect , including a novella from Giovanni Boccaccio's Decameron and the story of Count Ugolino della Gherardesca from Dante's Divina Commedia . His most notable creation , La mort dlu marì , was written in 1897.

His friend Carlo Salvioni published studies on his texts in 1902, 1904 and 1905 in the linguistic journal Archivio glottologico italiano .
