Giuseppe Pometta

Giuseppe Pometta (born March 7, 1872 in Broglio , † March 30, 1963 in Bellinzona ) was a Swiss teacher and historian .

Life

Giuseppe Pometta was the son of the country doctor Angelo Pometta (born May 9, 1834 in Broglio; June 23, 1876 ibid), who is also mayor of Broglio and the Ticino cantonal parliament was represented and his wife Leopoldina (* 10.01.1844 in Cerentino, † unknown ), born Capponi. He was a grandson of the politician Daniele Capponi (1810–1876). His brothers were:

From 1902 to 1928 he was the Italian editor of the monthly roses magazine of the Swiss Student Association and an employee of various cultural magazines.

Most of his historical writings appeared from 1924 to 1954 in the Briciole di storia bellinzonese series .

Giuseppe Pometta was married to Pio, a daughter of Emilio Molo.

  • In 1896 Giuseppe Pometta was president of the Lepontia student association.
  • He founded a cultural circle in Bellinzona and belonged to various patriotic, Catholic and agricultural associations.
