Emma Ekenman-Fernis (born July 24, 1996 in Stockholm ) is a Swedish handball player . She plays for the German first division team Thuringian HC and in the Swedish national team .

Career

Emma Ekenman-Fernis started playing handball at the Swedish club Rosersbergs IK. In summer 2009 she moved to Skånela IF . In the 2014/15 season, the outside player ran for Spårvägens HF . From summer 2015 she was under contract with IK Sävehof , with whom she won the Swedish championship in 2016, 2018 and 2019. In the summer of 2020 she moved to the German Bundesliga club Thuringian HC .

Emma Ekenman-Fernis won the gold medal with the Swedish youth national team at the U-17 European Championships in 2013 and the bronze medal at the 2014 Summer Youth Olympic Games . She has been a member of the Swedish national team since 2016, for which she has scored 47 goals in 34 international matches . With Sweden she took part in the 2016 European Championships .
