The 11th U-17 European Handball Championship for women was held in Poland from August 15 to 25, 2013 . The organizer was the European Handball Federation (EHF). The European championship was won by the Swedish selection, which prevailed in the final against the defending champion Russia.
Venues
The venues for the Games were Gdańsk and Gdynia .
qualification
32 teams took part in the tournament. The remaining 15 teams for the U17 European Championships were played in 8 groups. For the European Championship, the group first from group 1 to 8 and the second group from group 1 to 7 qualify.
Participating teams
Poland was automatically qualified to host the tournament . Sweden , Romania , Russia , Denmark , Germany , Portugal , Norway , France , Spain , the Czech Republic , Croatia , Montenegro , the Netherlands , Hungary and Slovakia were able to secure their participation in the qualification tournament .
Group draw
The draw for the preliminary round groups of the U-17 European Women's Handball Championship 2013 took place on April 7, 2013 in Gdańsk. The 16 qualified teams were divided into four groups of four teams each:

Preliminary round
In the preliminary round, each team in a group played once against each other team in the same group. The best two teams in each group qualified for the main round, the third and fourth group qualified for the intermediate round.

Main round
In the main round, the first and second group, the participants of the semi-finals, played. The result from the preliminary round (group first against group runner-up in a preliminary round group) was taken into the main round. The winners and runners-up in group M1 + M2 qualified for the semifinals. The third and fourth group went into the cross games for places 5 to 8.
