Emmet Michael Walsh (born March 6, 1892 in Beaufort , USA , † March 16, 1968 ) was Bishop of Youngstown .

Life

Emmet Michael Walsh received the sacrament of ordination for the diocese of Savannah on January 15, 1915 .

On June 20, 1927, Pope Pius XI appointed him . to the Bishop of Charleston . The Bishop of Savannah, Michael Joseph Keyes SM , donated him episcopal ordination on September 8 of the same year ; Co- consecrators were the Bishop of Saint Augustine , Patrick Joseph Barry , and the Bishop of Raleigh , William Joseph Hafey .

Pope Pius XII appointed him on September 8, 1949 titular bishop of Rhaedestus and coadjutor bishop of Youngstown . With the death of James Augustine McFadden on November 16, 1952, he succeeded him as Bishop of Youngstown.

Walsh attended the first two sessions of the Second Vatican Council as a council father.
