Emsen ( Low German Ems ) is part of the municipality of Rosengarten in the district of Harburg in Lower Saxony with around 450 inhabitants. It is close to the A1 motorway (Hamburg – Bremen).

history

On July 1, 1972, Emsen was incorporated into the municipality of Nenndorf. The name of this municipality was officially changed to Rosengarten on July 18, 1973 . The local mayor is Hans-Hermann Böttcher (SPD), who is also elected by the Langenrehm district . The village of St. Petrus parish in Buchholz is parish. The primary school, the secondary school and the secondary school are located in Nenndorf .

The local volunteer fire brigade has 30 members and in 2006 moved into a new fire station at Dibbersener Weg 12.

Since 1992 the place has been the annual venue for the Emsen Grand Prix for Duo vehicles organized by the Duo Club Emsen . In addition, the shooting club and the TC Emsen tennis club are active in the district.

In the immediate vicinity are the two large stone graves of the Neolithic funnel cup culture
