Geographical location

Vahrendorf is located near the border between Lower Saxony and Hamburg on and on the Langen Stein ( 129  m above sea  level ) and Kiekeberg ( 127.1  m ), the two highest peaks of the Harburg hill country in the vicinity of the Harburg mountains . The village borders in the north on the district of Ehestorf , in the south-southwest on Sottorf and in the northwest on Alvesen .

The district of Vahrendorf-Siedlung is a specialty. It can only be reached if you drive through Sottorf beforehand. The distance between the district and Vahrendorf is approx. 2.2 km. One could assume from the location that the place is part of Sottorf; however, the residents of Vahrendorf-Siedlung do not vote in the much closer Sottorf polling station, but in the further away Vahrendorf.
