Engin Sahin (born June 25, 1978 in Duisburg ) is a German - Turkish actor .

Life

Engin Sahin grew up in Duisburg-Rheinhausen. His parents come from Turkey and came to Germany as guest workers in 1970 . Sahin has three brothers. He went to school in Duisburg and completed an apprenticeship as an industrial mechanic at Mannesmannröhren-Werke in 1998 . Parallel to his training with Mannesmann, he gained stage experience as an actor in independent theater groups . After making the acquaintance of several film directors and agencies, he decided to become an actor and completed an apprenticeship at the Duisburg & Essen theater from 2005 to 2008. In 2008/09 he attended a camera acting workshop in Istanbul .

In 2009 Sahin played in the TV movie Takiye - In God's Name the smaller role as employee Gimpa. In 2009 he had a small role in the film Romy , followed by others in Death in Istanbul , Inspector Stolberg , Alarm für Cobra 11 and Verbotene Liebe . In 2010 Sahin got the supporting roles for various comedy sketches for Sketch-up . In 2011 he took on the role of Bülent Aktan in the movie Frisch gepresst. In 2011 Sahin played the lead role Marco in the short film The Badge of Honor in his own script . In 2011 Sahin got a day role in the TV documentary series Low and Kuhnt . He played the fitness trainer Gürkan Yilmaz. In 2012 he played the main role of Okan in the short film Ön Yargi (The Prejudice). In 2013 he took on the lead role in Don't forget to Smile ( 99Fire Films Award ) for a short film .

In 2013, Sahin received an offer from the Duisburg blood donation center to play the leading role in a commercial and to portray himself. Sahin wrote a script for the spot and recorded a commercial with director Anil Altinyay in 2013. In 2014, Engin Sahin played the lead role of Kenan in the film Circus Mafia

In 2017 Sahin played the main role of Cafer in the play Yok Artik alongside the Turkish actors Mustafa Sahbaz and Aylin Önder Özdemir. The theater performance took place in the Katakomben Theater Essen and in the Viva-Bistro- Hall in Hanover. In 2017, Sahin wrote the screenplay for the short film My Past , in which he directed and played the leading role .
