Enno Werle

Enno Werle (* 1949 / 1950 in Two Bridges ) is a German boxing coach . Under his direction, Markus Bott became world champion in 1993.

Life

Werle got into the ring as an amateur boxer in the middle and light heavyweight division for 1. FC Kaiserslautern, in 1981 he obtained the coaching license of the Southwest German Amateur Boxing Association and two years later of the Federation of German Professional Boxers . From 1984 Werle worked as a trainer for the professional boxing stable Sauerland and looked after boxers like the two Zambians Lottie Mwale and John Sichula as well as the Nigerian Peter Konyegwachie .

In February 1993 Markus Bott became the fourth German professional boxing world champion under Werle as a trainer when the Pforzheimer, who was fighting for the Universum boxing stable at the time , defeated the American Tyrone Booze in Hamburg and thus won the world cruiserweight title according to the WBO version . Together with Chuck Talhami from the United States, Werle also prepared the Pforzheimer for his first defense of the world title in June of the same year, but Bott lost the fight against the Argentine Nestor Giovannini , after which the collaboration between Werle and Bott ended. In 1996 Werle was the founder of the boxing stable Barbarossa, in 2003 he became a trainer at the Boxing Academy in Frankfurt am Main .

Werle was a cutman in several World Cup matches . In 2012 Werle initially worked as an assistant coach for US heavyweight Tony Thompson in the run-up to his World Cup fight against Wladimir Klitschko , before Thompson waived Werle's service in the course of preparation. He also trained Dennis Don Kiy , Ikram Kerwat and his son Manuel Faisst . In addition to his work as a boxing trainer, Werle and his son built a company for security services and personal protection.
