Enrico Lenzin

Enrico Lenzin (* 1971 in Altstätten ) is a Swiss musician .

Lenzin was born in 1971 as the middle of three children in Altstätten in the St. Gallen Rhine Valley . His father is a trumpeter and played in various formations. His younger brother, Peter Lenzin Jun. Is a saxophonist . Lenzin completed a commercial apprenticeship after leaving school. At a young age he played the trumpet and then switched to percussion . Lenzin studied drums in Vienna and at the Lucerne Conservatory with Pierre Favre . He lives in Rebstein , is married and has two children.

Since his youth, Lenzin has played in various jazz / rock formations as well as in various theater productions in Europe. Since 2016, he has been working mostly as a solo artist. He showed his solo program for the first time in 2016 on the SRF TV show The Greatest Swiss Talents and then on Canale 5 in Italy. Since then he has been touring the world with his solo program. Lenzin combines alphorn music with progressive rhythms.

Awards

  • 2013: Appreciation award from the Canton of St. Gallen together with Peter Lenzin
  • 2017: Goldiga Törgga recognition award from the Rheintaler Kulturstiftung for extraordinary achievements by Rheintaler artists
