The . Eparchie of St. Scharbel in Buenos Aires ( latin Eparchia Sancti Sarbelii bonaerensis Maronitarum ) is a Maronite Diaspora - Eparchie in Argentina .
History and organization
The Eparchy of St. Sharbel was established on October 5, 1990 in the Argentine capital Buenos Aires . Most of the Christians in this eparchy are emigrants and originally come from Lebanon . Their name goes back to St. Maron of Beit-Marun , after whom they call themselves "Maronites". In 2004, the Eparchy of St. Scharbel of Buenos Aires numbered around 700,000 Maronite- Arab Christians . They were divided into four 2,004 parishes of ten diocesan and nine religious priests and two deacons in the permanent diaconate , pastoral and pastoral care. Six nuns and nine friars were also involved in caring for the Maronite Christians .
