The Erdkucke (Neomorphinae) are a subfamily of the cuckoo family . All species live in America .

features

Common features of the earth cuckoo are noticeably short wings, long legs and long tail feathers . All species of this subfamily usually move on the ground, long flights are avoided. The way cuckoo reaches z. B. running speeds of up to 30 km / h. Most species are not breeding parasites , but raise their young themselves. Exceptions to this are the representatives of the sister taxa Dromococcyx and Tapera , which lay their eggs in foreign nests.
