Erdoğdu is a village in the central district of Tunceli Province . The village had a total of only 18 inhabitants in 2012. In 1985 the population was 162.

The original name of the village is Vilekaşo or Velikesan. In Zazaki the name is Pulê Dewresu ("summit of the dervishes").

Erdoğdu is located in Bucak Kocakoç near the D885 road from Erzincan to Tunceli . The village is shaped by Alevi and the majority of the residents belong to the Zaza ethnic group . Erdoğdu is the home village of Hüseyin Aygün .

In 2011, there were military operations against the Kurdistan Workers' Party in the vicinity of the village .
