Erewash is an administrative district with borough status in the county of Derbyshire in England . The administrative seat is the city of Ilkeston ; other significant places are Long Eaton , Ockbrook and Borrowash , Sandiacre and West Hallam .
The district was formed on April 1, 1974 and was created from the merger of the Borough of Ilkeston , the Urban District Long Eaton and part of the Rural District South East Derbyshire.
