North East Derbyshire is a district in the county of Derbyshire in England . The administrative seat is not in the district itself, but in the town of Chesterfield , which is three-quarters of which is enclosed by North East Derbyshire. Significant locations are Arkwright Town , Ashover , Calow , Clay Cross , Dronfield , Eckington , Killamarsh , North Wingfield , Tupton and Wingerworth .
The district was formed on April 1, 1974 and was formed from the merger of the urban districts Clay Cross and Dronfield and almost the entire rural district of Chesterfield.
