Eric M. Lang (born 1972 ) is a Canadian game author who specializes primarily in trading card and fantasy games. Since 2017 he has worked as head of game development for the American game publisher CMON (formerly Cool Mini or Not).

biography

Eric M. Lang began his professional career as a test player for FASA Corporation before releasing his first own games. He published his first game Mystick in 2000, after which he published several games including Fantasy Flight Games , WizKids and CMON. Several of his games have won awards, including two Origin Awards in 2002 for his A Game of Thrones: The Card Game . Also Quarriors! , which he developed together with Mike Elliott , and Dice Masters were awarded this prize, the latter for a version with heroes of DC Comics ( DC Comics Dice Masters: War of Light ) and Marvel Comics ( Marvel Dice Masters: Avengers vs. . X-Men ). In 2015, the game XCOM: The Board Game was awarded the Griffin Scroll of the Austrian Game of Games award and in the following year 2016 the Viking board game Blood Rage was included on the recommendation list of the Kennerspiel des Jahres and nominated for the Gamers Choice Award. In 2016 Lang received the Diana Jones Award "for Excellence in Gaming".

Since April 2017, Eric M. Lang has been the director of game development ("Director of Game Design") at the American game publisher CMON.
