Eric Turner (born November 1, 1977 ) is an American singer-songwriter who currently lives in Sweden . He is the lead singer for the band Street Fighting Man and also a music teacher.
Personal
Eric Turner was born in Boston and attended Boston College High School. He was a teacher at the international English school in Järfälla in Sweden, where he taught mathematics . In Canada he studied biochemistry . He is also an excellent visual artist .
Eric Turner has a brother, Nicholas Turner, who lives in Boston. His mother teaches fashion design at Quincy High School.
Career
When Eric Turner performed together with his band Street Fighting Man at an event in Stockholm , the sound engineer there noticed him and told his friend, the Swedish music producer Eshraque "iSHi" Mughal, about Turner: "I don't really like the songs, but you have to hear this guy! ". iSHI met him and immediately decided that Turner had that certain something, so a few weeks later he signed him to his production company 2Stripes. However, he saw Turner more as a solo artist than part of a band. Turner hesitated at first, but gradually embraced the idea. In order to help Turner establish himself as a solo artist, it was decided that he should sing the hooklines of songs recorded with already known artists. The first of these was " Written in the Stars " with British rapper Tinie Tempah . Released in September 2010, the song reached number 1 in the UK and Republic of Ireland , and number 12 in the US . In addition to his activities as a songwriter and his profession as a math teacher in Järfälla, he also appeared in songs by Lupe Fiasco , Tinchy Stryder , Professor Green , Wretch 32 , Cardinal Offishall and again Tinie Tempah. In 2012 he worked with the Swedish DJ Avicii on the house song "Dancing in My Head ".
